I visited Cape Town last January and was introduced to Claudia by friends I spent two relaxed days with Claudia as my personal tour guide Claudia took me to places I wished to go and places Claudia suggested Claudia also invited myself and my friend Georgie to her lovely B & B for dinner and a cooking lesson – Bobotie – Claudia certainly made my stay in Cape Town along with other friends a happy time. Her friend Ernest from Kuyasa Tours and Shuttle Co. also took me on a tour of District 6 and the townships, and was very good at explaining the townships’ history. I would certainly recommend Claudia Mother City Escapes for a personal, relaxed tour. I visited Cape Town for a conference last October and was put in touch with Claudia through a mutual friend. We didn’t have many days to see the city, but our day with Claudia was definitely one of the highlights! She picked us up from our hotel and drove us to Boulders Beach to see the penguins. Along the way, she told us about the city – such interesting history and Claudia was very knowledgeable. After visiting Boulders, we went for dinner at Bistro 1682 in one of Cape Town’s beautiful vineyards.

After ten years as a guide, Claudia has mastered the art of creating a personalized experience that felt more like spending the day with a knowledgeable friend than being on a guided tour. Claudia managed to ensure that we got to see all the very best of Cape Town. I think our favorite experience was the magical Chapman’s Peak Drive. And let me add that Claudia is an excellent driver! Along all our stops, Claudia captured our limited time in Cape Town with some terrific photos. We had some specific requests aside from the city tour that Claudia easily accomplished for us. Her professionalism, enthusiasm, and beautiful blue eyes shone as she described her remarkable city with its breathtaking blend of mountains, ocean, and city life. We recently had the pleasure of embarking on a tour of South Africa (the Garden Route and Cape Town) led by an outstanding guide, Claudia.

From the very start, she exuded warmth and friendliness, instantly putting us at ease despite our lack of familiarity with the country. We would not have had so many varied experiences without her banter with random locals. Claudia is also an extremely skilled photographer and showed genuine passion for showcasing the best of South Africa with her extensive knowledge of the country’s history and various locales. She went above and beyond to tailor the tour to our interests, ensuring that we discovered hidden gems, souvenirs and great photo-taking spots.

We couldn’t have asked for a better guide for our time in South Africa; it genuinely felt less like being on a tour and more like travelling with a friend.

Claudia went above and beyond in so many ways, always giving her time generously and making sure we experienced the country in a personal and meaningful way. Whether it was sharing local insights, adjusting plans so we could see something special, or helping us track down peppermint crisp (!), she would always go above and beyond. Her knowledge was amazing, and she would share local insights you would never find in a guidebook. Whether it is a day trip from Cape Town or a trip along the Garden Route, Claudia has so much knowledge and always knows the best coffee stops along the way!

We got engaged during the trip, and she played such an important role in making it all come together perfectly. It’s something we’ll always remember, and we’re so grateful to her for that.

Her warmth, sense of humour, and genuine care made every day exciting, and we loved every minute. We can’t wait to come back and explore more with Claudia!

During our recent trip to Cape Town, we had the distinct pleasure of having Claudia as our guide for two full-day tours. The first was a tour of the city, which included walking through the historic sections in and around Company’s Gardens, as well as driving to beautiful Kalk Bay to enjoy the scenic views. The second full-day tour was Stellenbosch Vineyards and the artsy community of Franschhoek. We found Claudia to be extremely knowledgeable regarding both the history and culture of Cape Town and surrounding areas. We had lots of fun both days and feel like we made a new friend along the way. Claudia spent time learning about our likes and interests and did an “on the spot” tailoring of both tours to customize them for us. For example, we are vegan so Claudia found us restaurants that would meet our dietary needs. She also went above and beyond in taking us to a pharmacy when we mentioned that we had difficulty finding one the day before. A bonus is that Claudia is an excellent photographer – she took some of the best portrait photos of us on our entire trip. In summary, we highly recommend tours with Claudia – they will probably be among the highlights of your vacation.

Claudia took us on a fabulous daylong Cape Town Peninsula tour including a once in a lifetime visit to the penguins colony. She made it so much fun in every way. She’s so knowledgeable and passionate about all of it and she thought of everything – including snacks in the car! Highly recommend a day with Claudia!
